Technology- a boon and bane
Unprecedented technological growth led us to a situation where we found ourselves staring at difficult times. Computer waste generated all over the world and especially USA posed severe threat to our planet. Computer monitors and processors result in toxic components like lead, cadmium, arsenic and mercury, which pose a big environmental threat. Most of the computer waste which was harmful was dumped into the third world countries. As a way to stop it, computer recycling was started in USA.
Computer recycling in New Hampshire has been around for many years. Since 2006, devices like computer and televisions were banned from New Hampshire landfills. People are offered tax deductions if they decide to donate old or new computer, laptop or nay computer equipment. Municipalities have some centralized drop off centers where people can pay a small fee and give away their computer monitors and television sets.
